Sarah offered to present an in-store speaking session, with Q&A to a small crowd the Saturday before the 2009 Nike Women’s Marathon, of which she was participating. The conversations ranged from nutrition, to motivation and the mechanics behind competing in an endurance event like an ultra-marathon. Sarah fielded all the questions asked of her with enthusiasm and insight, afterward encouraging more questions be asked. She’s a consistent motivator, and broke down her answers in ways that would be applicable to the person asking them, based on their running or lack of running experience. Sarah Stanley would be a welcome addition to any rotating, speaker series or venue hoping to attract outdoor or endurance enthusiasts.

Hi Sarah,
Just thought you may want to hear this:
I am a sophomore in high school and play singles on the Varsity tennis team. Yesterday we had a tournament that required everyone to play three matches. Mine always seemed to last the longest, and I was so tired by the time that the third one started. During the last match, my feet were beyond killing me and I could barely walk. But then I thought of you, and realized that you ran 100 miles in the same pair of shoes. Who was I to complain about my sore feet after playing a few hours of tennis? So I kept going and ended up winning 7-6, 6-1.
Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Best,
Allie
