The Disposable Hero’s Project
The past few months I have been searching for a cause that I can support. It is my delight to announce that I have selected Brad & The Disposable Hero’s Project. Brad is also running 100 miles. I will let you read his letter (below) on why he choose this distance.
I will be working with Brad to raise $100,000. I invite you to join me in supporting this worthy cause with me! This is part of the mission of Sarah Stanley Inspired. To help others one life, one mile at time. http://www.thedisposableheroesproject.com/
A few months ago I saw a story on fox news about Sgt. Keith Zeier,a Wounded Warrior, that ran 100 miles in one and a half days to raise money and awareness for our fallen heroes. After seeing this inspiring story I wanted to do more for the ones that still serve, wounded warriors, and our fallen heroes. After spending four years in the Marines and doing two tours to Iraq, I promised myself that I when i got out I would do more for the same guys I served with.
In April I am going to run 100 miles, in one day, to raise money and awareness for our fallen heroes. I have started a website that has already had over 12,000 hits on it. Through T.V. interviews and stories on the front pages of news papers I have attracted the attention of Good Morning America. I was invited to the show, as a military guest, that will air on November 5th 2009.

Luke’s Wings is an organization dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation. By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.
While individual donations may be made directly through our website www.lukeswings.org, Luke’s Wings also asks corporations to support our cause with corporate sponsorships and corporate donations. Luke’s Wings organizes events and fundraisers in and around Washington, D.C. for this purpose.
Recognizing the difficulties families encounter as they make their way to their loved ones’ side, Luke’s Wings is prepared to partner with corporations to ease the burden on families and service members during their visit. Luke’s Wings will purchases plane tickets for a family to travel to the Medical Hospital, then Luke’s Wings may partner with a hotel and a theme park or other non profit for free or discounted accommodations, meals, entertainment, local travel vouchers, etc.
