LA Marathon. (After the Flood)
Posted on 30. Mar, 2011 by Sarah in Fitness, Running
It’s been a little over a week since me and 19,887 runners conquered (swam?) the LA Marathon. (Note: 23,542 runners started the epic adventure.)
Because I was running I wasn’t able to take photos OR video. Remind someone to sponsor a waterproof camera for me
So I thought it would be fun to actually show you what I experienced.
This is at the finish line. With the ocean right beside us, the wind was having mercy on NO ONE.
While I wasn’t here when this happened, this is how hard the wind was blowing. Insane!
And this is after we crossed the finish line! It was freezing!
This video captures some of the wonderful volunteers, the lead runners (winners), and the back of the pack. It truly was an epic day!
All in all it was a very epic day. Other words that come to mind include:
- Adventure
- Brutal
- Chilly
- Epic
- Fun
- Insane
- Intense
- Radical
- Soggy Memories
- Wet
- Life Changing
- A race I will never forget
Long live the LA Marathon!

Feels like it was just yesterday that I went through exactly what you posted about. Love the commentary in the first clip, “this officially blows..’ I can definitely relate to all of those words you listed too!
