UPDATE: You can win a t-shirt AND a sports bra! It’s Christmas in October!
Happy Monday! Last week I told you to stay tuned because TODAY I would announce a special treat for you presented by Moving Comfort.
Moving Comfort is my FAVORITE sports bra. I have been wearing them for the past five years. For all the high impact activity I do, these are the best bra’s!
In honor of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Moving Comfort, industry leader in sports bras and women’s-specific fitness apparel, is pleased to announce Support Your Girls® Pink Project 2010, the latest installment of their successful philanthropic campaign. In honor of October National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Moving Comfort will donate five dollars from the sales of their limited edition Support Your Girls Tees ($30.00 MSRP) to Bright Pink.
Based on the success of last year’s campaign, Moving Comfort has doubled their offerings with the design of two new tees in hot pink and deep aubergine. The tees boldly feature the words “Support Your Girls”, shadowed by Moving Comfort’s mantra, a fit woman is a powerful ®.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with Bright Pink through the Support Your Girls 2010 campaign,” says Julie Baxter, Vice President of Moving Comfort. “Bright Pink provides young women with the tools to take control of their breast and ovarian health. This proactive approach fosters ‘fit and powerful’ women nationwide, a mission that is near and dear to our hearts at Moving Comfort.”
Support Your Girls tees will be available October 1,2010 in stores nationwide and online atwww.movingcomfort.com/supportyourgirls. Visit www.movingcomfort.com/supportyourgirls to purchase on line or to find a complete list of participating retailers.
ABOUT BRIGHT PINK
Bright Pink (www.bebrightpink.org) was founded by Lindsay Avner who, upon graduating from college, learned that she tested positive for a mutation on the BRCA1 gene, an inherited alteration in the gene that can carry with it up to an 85% increased risk of breast cancer. Vowing not to let the disease strike her, as it had three generations before her, she opted to have a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy, one of the youngest patients to opt for the procedure. Lindsay’s personal experience inspired her to create Bright Pink, a national non-profit organization that strives to enlighten and empower high risk, young women to take control of their breast and ovarian health by providing education, support and a sense of community for a better, brighter future.
Okay, so here is the exciting part, you CAN WIN one of the shirts! Simply answer the following question and “like us” on Facebook Moving Comfort & Sarah Stanley Inspired .

My favorite workout partner is my dog. He forces me to keep running (even though he’s only just walking a fast pace, ha) and motivates me to work out outdoors with him when the weather is nice.

Despite my masculine name, I am in fact, a girl who needs a sportsbra. Besides the garment that “supports my girls” I love my heart rate monitor. We do every workout except yoga together and it pushes me to go a little farther, push a little harder or even slow down some (depending on the numbers). It’s like having a gym buddy strapped to my wrist at all times!

My 4 year old is my favorite workout partner! Since I’m a single mom, he probably does at least 60% of my workouts with me, either in the jogging stroller or the bike trailer!

I finally found a workout partner who is just as motivated as I am to get healthy, and probably even more motivated. So glad I finally found someone who doesn’t make excuses all the time- soooo refreshing!

Oh! And my Nike + for IPOD- I could not leave home without it. It keeps track of my miles, motivates me when I do a new Personal Best and it plays my music that I love!

I have more than one favorite workout partner.
Over the last twenty weeks, I have trained for my first marathon. Every weekend long run over the course of 20 weeks, I ran with an incredible group of ladies (@runnergrrl98, @diva_marci, and @txskatemom).
They pushed me when I could not run anymore, They instilled confidence in me when I had none, They inspired me to reach my dreams, They became apart of me.

Since I love to run in just a sports bra, I guess my other favorite item is my running skirt! I used to hate them, until I tried one… now it feels too good to be girly!

I love my Moving Comfort Fiona, but my favorite workout partner is my friend Jamie. She helps hold me accountable, & we keep each other motivated. She’s reliable, & we run well together. A good running buddy is as essential as a good running bra!

My favorite workout buddy is my friend Steve. He is 59 years old and 2 years ago, at the age of 57, he ran a 2:49 at the New York City Marathon, winning his age group. Despite the fact that he’s nearly 30 years my senior and can still run circles around me, he’s the most supportive, fun, interesting person to run with. I don’t get to run with him very often these days but I jump when I get the chance!

I LOVE working out with my Droid phone and all the apps, particularly Cardio Counter. I love being able to see in Google maps where I’ve been, how fast I’ve been going, and how many calories I’ve burned. I also like using Google Tracks for the same thing when I’m in the mountains hiking. So geeky, but that’s why I love it!

My favorite workout partner is Kristian Stevens (@seekrisrun). We trained for the Chicago Marathon together and ran most of our long runs together super early on Sunday mornings in the Texas heat. She encourages me, keeps me going, and sings when we get tired. We have finished our first marathon together, and I’m already begging her to run another one in December with me.

I don’t really have a workout partner, I go solo. But my kids are my biggest supporters. They always ask how far I ran that day, and what ever number I say they are amazed! It is great!

[...] Sarah Stanley Inspired is giving away Moving Comfort’s Support Your Girls shirts on her site. Even cooler? Moving Comfort is donating $5 from every SYG shirt sold to Bright Pink, a national non-profit organization that provides education and support to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. Top that off with a little more coolness- I found out that there is a Bright Pink chapter in the city I’m movin’ to in just a few weeks! [...]

My favorite work-out partners are the ones who make sure I actually get to the gym at 5:30AM for my work-outs & runs. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be getting ready to run my 7th marathon this Sunday!

My favorite workout partner(s) are the runners that I coach. Even when I’m having a rough day or dog-tired, they motivate and inspire me just by SHOWING UP to my workouts. I love to plan challenging workouts for them and see them push themselves. It is so rewarding to see a runner hit their goal of a PR or a faster mile split. I’m so lucky to coach so many awesome runners and to have them as constant running partners.

My favorite work out partner is my friend Missy. She challenged me to do my first triathlon in 2009 and has pushed and inspired me to continue doing triathlons, and 10k’s and I am now planning on a half iron man next year.
She is my motivation to keep pushing forward when I am ready to give up.

My conscience. I find my own guilt, voices in the back of my mind, and remembering things friends and peers have said to me as I ride keeps me going.
I also remember everyone I ride for through LIVESTRONG. Just my mind’s recollection of their names keep me moving.

Twitter and Dailymile.com. Without the support of my friends in the Twitter and Dailymile community there are day I know I wouldn’t get out in the morning for a run. Reading comments from friends and chatting about workouts is what keeps me motivated. Because of their support I am challenging myself to push harder in training. I’m now considering doing a half IM this year.

Right now, my favorite workout “partner” is the new treadmill at my condo complex! We just had it installed and it has a plug-in for my iPod, it has two great fans, awesomely LARGE water bottle holders AND it has the coolest programs ever! I’m not getting bored anymore!
I like you both on Facebook as Katy Morris.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!

Ditto to Shenea, plus my people magazine. My workouts are all indoors at the gym (unless I’m going for a hike) so i need a good way to block out all the people grunting near me, the ESPN, the zumba music in the next room, etc.
