I'm going to take a quote out of Mark Sissons 'The Primal Blueprint' book about HFCS.

"It has been well-established that HFCS is even more lipogenic (fat-promoting) than glucose, since it is readily converted into either glucose or triglycerides in the liver. Diets high in HFCS have been shown to substantially increase triglyceride levels, increase risk of obesity (particularly in kids, since their soda consumption is so excessive in relation to their body weight), and contribute to the development of serious health problems like type 2 diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)."

HFCS is the devil.

Sarah,

Wow - you are amazing! And I love your video clips. You are so right about processed foods - I eat very little of anything out of the box anymore since I realized that most of my weight gain was from too many carbohydrates and not enough fresh fruits and vegetables. Keep on keepin on girl, you are truly inspiring!

Would you mind leaving a guest comment on my blog? http://MyLose-Weight-Now.com? Thanks ever so much - in between your training, that is : ).

HFCS is a huge issue and a filler as you say, Sarah, and you are correct to raise awareness of it. It is in many many breads, even those which claim to be 'healthy.' ALL mainstream catsups and BBQ sauces have it, and many salad dressings especially 'low-fat' ones, which I never buy or order at restaurants for this reason. I'd rather have a smaller portion of a real food, than ones loaded with this manufactured junk. Thanks. I have an article linked on the sidebar of my website regarding same issue. Good luck to you with your run and training.

Wow! This is the motivation I needed to start really being aware of whether HFCS is in the stuff I eat. Way to raise awareness!

It's not in the bread or the yogurt I eat. But who eats canned corn? Corn Syrup in corn... weird :) Ice cream and cookies? People eat a lot of junk. They should be less worried about singling out an ingredient and more concerned with what they put in their body as a whole. If it needs an artificial sweeter or a manufactured sweeter then you should probably think twice about eating it in the first place.

you are so right there Sarah. HFCS is one of the big things that really stops people burning their belly fat. Reading the labels is a must - and forget the soft drinks/sodas.
